Lecture on food poisoning held in Sharjah

SHARJAH — A lecture on ‘Food Poisoning and Necessary Control Procedures’ was jointly organised by the Quality and Health Culture Office of the Sharjah Municipality and the Mint S Company for Food Consultation here on Wednesday. The lecture was attended by food control personnel from the municipality and Sharjah Medical Zone hospitals.

Mahmoud Musa Salam, Food Safety Director of Mint S Company who delivered the lecture, said that the matter has added significance to the pace of development in the economic, social and cultural areas which had brought about a change in the mode of food and a spurt in the number of restaurants.

Salam shed light on different kinds of food infections as well as reasons for food contamination such as chemical, physical and biological sources.

The municipality said that the lecture was aimed to increase awareness about food safety.
