DUBAI — The largest-ever recorded human awareness pink ribbon in the Middle East was formed on Friday as part of anti-breast cancer campaign, organised by the Estee Lauder Companies.
Wearing Pink T-shirts, 1032 women and their family members gathered at Emirates Golf Club to be part of the iconic event, the first of its kind in the UAE. More than Dh126,500 was raised through sponsorship and individual donations.
“Thanks to everyone here, the Estee Lauder campaign in UAE is bigger than ever before, helping to make a real impact in the fight against breast cancer. Our aim is to raise awareness and funds. The Human Awareness Pink Ribbon is a superb way of establishing this communication as well as having a great morning of fun,” said the Pink Ambassador “Spokesperson” for the UAE/Middle East, Dr. Houriya Kazim, who is a leading breast cancer surgeon and founder of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of the Emirates.
