Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, has approved a partial amendment to the land use pattern in Al Bida’a and Abu Hail areas in Dubai.
Under this, some plots of land designated for residential use will be redesignated for multi-storey residential and independent villas. This will enable land owners to reconstruct on their property as per the new use and specifications, as well as enable them to utilise their land in an economically viable manner.
The decision is part of the government’s plan to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the emirate and upgrade the development of some areas to match the rapid growth and urbanisation in Dubai.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said that civic body is always keen, through its annual plans, to study the refurbishment of older areas to achieve the strategic objectives of the emirate.
