Labourer falls to death
DUBAI - A labourer working at a building under construction in Sharjah died on the spot after he fell from the fifth floor yesterday, as police lamented the lack of safety awareness among workers and urged contractors to monitor procedures more closely. The man was identified as a 43-year-old Asian.
He was working at the building in Al Niba'a area on the fifth floor when he lost his balance and fell. Investigators said he died instantly. A police officer at Al Hira police station said safety precautions are very important at construction sites and attentiveness should always be regarded as a work site requirement.
