KT bags three Global Village media awards
Khaleej Times has done it again. Two writers and a staff photographer of the newspaper grabbed top media honours at the Global Village Media Award (2012-2013) in the English language category.

The theme for the 17th edition of the Global Village was “Around the World in 161 Days”.
Both reporter Lily B. Libo-on and Supplements Editor Suchitra Steven Samuel bagged the award for ‘Best Coverage — English’, while staff photographer M. Sajjad won the ‘Best Photograph — English’ category.
Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, presented the trophies and prizes to the winners during the closing ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Dubai on Wednesday.
The Global Village, which ran for 161 days this year, is the largest outdoor family entertainment venue in the region attracting tourists from all across the world. The awards recognise media for their efforts in the coverage of the events at the Global Village. The articles are judged by the quality of research and content, overall presentation and degree of innovation. Photographs are judged by their impact, theme, family and fun factors as well as their technical quality.
