Abbas also hailed the UAE’s continuous support to Palestinians as part of the pledges made during the International Donors Conference in Paris last December.

In a statement issued by the headquarters of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) in Ramallah, Abbas said, “The United Arab Emirates has always stood for the Palestinian people’s just struggle for an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

The UAE’s support, he stressed, will contribute to the process of building institutions of the Palestinian state.

Shaikh Khalifa had on Thursday ordered the transfer of $50 million to the Palestinian treasury and allocated $250 million for a number of projects in the Palestinian territories.
