Khalifa orders airlift of 2 injured Emiratis from Saudi Arabia

Two young Emiratis who were seriously injured in a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia are to be airlifted and brought to the UAE for treatment, after an order issued by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The medical aircraft will leave with an officer from the Ministry of Interior and a medical team from the Abu Dhabi Health Authority on board, to bring the two Emiratis to the UAE for further treatment.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the two citizens, Mohammed Abdullah Al Shamsi, 26, and Saleh Abdullah Al Shamsi, 25, sustained severe injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in was in an accident and rolled over in Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahsa area. They were taken to King Fahd Hospital for treatment.

The ministry extended its thanks and appreciation to the Saudi officials who provided immediate medical care and wished the injured men a speedy recovery.
