Khalifa names Mohammed Chairman of Exec. Council

ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, named Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

This was according to an Amiri Decree No. 25 for 2004 issued by Shaikh Khalifa in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Shaikh Khalifa through an Amiri Decree No. 27 for 2004 appointed Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi as Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council with a status of chairman of department. Shaikh Khalifa through Decree No 26 for 2004 restructured the Abu Dhabi Executive Council to include the following officials:

Shaikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Seaports Department.

Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Department of Planning and Economy.

Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court as member.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of Department of Finance,

Shaikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation.

Khalfan Ghaith Al Muheirbi, Chairman of Department Municipalities and Agriculture.

Juan bin Salim Al Dhahiri, Chairman of Department of Social Services and Commercial Buidlings.

Khaldoun Khalifa Ahmed Al Mubarak, Chairman of Department of Organisation and Administration.

Hamad Mohammed Al Hur Al Suweidi, Under-Secretary of Department of Finance as member.

The decrees will go into force from the date of its issue and be published in the gazette.

Shaikh Khalifa has issued a Federal Decree appointing Mohammed Habroush Mohammed Al Suweidi as Adviser to the President with a status of minister.

President Shaikh Khalifa, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, issued the Law No. 10 for 2004 for amendment in the Law No. 1 for 1974 to reorganise the government organ of Abu Dhabi emirate.

According to the law, Article 5 of the Law No. 1 for 1974 shall be amended to read as follow:

1. The Departments of Purchasing and Customs would be merged into the Finance Department.

2. The Department of Works, Departments of Municipality and Town Planning in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and the Town Planning, Agriculture and Animal Resources in Al Ain would be merged to remame as Department of Municipalities and Agriculture.

3. The Departments of Planning and Economy would become the Department of Planning and Economy.

4. The Department of Civil Aviation.

5. The Department of Seaports

6. The Department of Social Services and Commercial Buildings.

7. The Department of Organisation and Administration.

Any rule that contradicts articles of this law shall be null and void. The law would go into force from the date of its issue and be published in the gazette.

Meanwhile, President Shaikh Khalifa in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, issued Law No. 11 for 2004 amending articles of Law No. 3 for 1982 on the establishment of Abu Dhabi Aviation Company.

According to the law, Article 13 of the Law No. 3 for 1982 shall be read : “The company shall be managed by a board of seven members.

The executive council appoints the board chairman and one member while the ordinary general assembly of the company elects five members for a three-year tenure which may be renewed.

The law shall go into force from the date of its issue and be published in the gazette.
