Khalifa invited to South Sudan’s independence celebrations
ABU DHABI - The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received on Monday an official invitation from the First Vice-President of Sudan, President of the Government of South Sudan, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, to attend the celebrations of South Sudan’s Declaration of Independence on July 9.
The invitation was delivered to State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash in his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Vice-President of the Government of South Sudan Dr Riek Machar Teny and the delegation accompanying him.
During the meeting, the two sides explored the future of the relations between the UAE and the Government of South Sudan and ways to boost them in all fields. It also tackled the preparations for hosting the Conference on Investment in South Sudan, which will be held in the UAE. Present were Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Department of Arab Affairs and Sultan Mohammed Al Al Ali, Director of the Department of Media Affairs and Government Communications at the ministry
