Khalifa calls for speedy justice

ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has urged the country’s legal bodies to speed up trials and legal procedures and deliver verdicts as per the Islamic Shariah law and the other laws effective in the country.

At a swearing-in ceremony for six new judges of the Supreme Federal Court at Al Mushrif Palace here, Shaikh Khalifa stressed that all people have the right to justice and the rule of law tops each and every other consideration in the UAE.

The judges who took oath are: Abdul Salam Al Wahhabi, Ranvi Mohammed Ibrahim, Mustafa Al Tayeb Haboora Ahmed, Mohammed Ahmed Abdul Kader, Abdul Hakeem Al Sayyed Mahmoud Abdullah and Ahmed Abdul Hameed Hamed Mohammed.

Shaikh Khalifa urged the new judges to act as epitome of fairness, impartiality, integrity and devotion and avoid any favouritism or prejudice.

Present at the swearing-in ceremony were General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region; Shaikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Amiri Flight; Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; and other Shaikhs.
