General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was also present on the occasion.
Shaikh Khalifa was updated by Al Attiyah on the latest arrangements being made by Kuwait to host the GCC summit in mid-December and efforts to push the GCC joint action forward.
The President affirmed the UAE’s full support for the GCC march in all fields and wished all success to the GCC summit under the chairmanship of Emir of Kuwait His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
Al Attiyah termed the Kuwait summit as a critical turn in the group’s march towards the future as it is being convened during important circumstances both the Gulf region and the world are passing through. “This requires a common stance in order to address current challenges in the political, social and economic spheres,” he said.
The meeting was attended by a number of Shaikhs, ministers and top officials. Al Attiyah said, “The UAE, under the leadership of Shaikh Khalifa, has been and is still the prime supporter of GCC resolutions and their implementation for the sake of consolidating joint cooperation.”
