Khalifa award for 121 teachers

ABU DHABI — The Minister of Education, Dr. Hanif Hassan, yesterday honoured 121 teachers from the emirates with the "Khalifa bin Zayed Award for Teachers".

The ceremony to honour the teachers for their distinguished performance was held at the Armed Forces Officers’ Club here.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hassan said, " today, we honour the teachers who spare no efforts in providing the best education to the students."

Sultan Ahmed Mohammad, a teacher from the Ras Al Khaimah Education Zone said: "I am proud to be honoured today. I thank the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his concern and care for the teachers."

He added: "We seek to work for and serve our country faithfully. It's our cherished role and we enjoy this work."

The headmistress of Al Bahga School in Ajman, another recipient of the award, said, "I cannot find words to describe my feelings. All I want to do is to work harder."

She added: "I brought my son to receive my prize today so as to motivate him to excel in the future."
