The opening will allow a smooth traffic flow for motorists heading towards the Jumeirah Lakes Towers area and Jumeirah Islands via Shaikh Zayed Road.

“This is one among the important stages of the Jumeirah Lakes Interchange Project. The RTA will be opening more stages of this project by the end of November,” said Maitha bin Adai, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at the RTA.

Jumeirah Lakes Towers interchange project is one of the vital projects developed by RTA, which will ensure direct road access to many vital projects in the areas of Dubai Anchorage and Jumeirah Towers Beach Residence,” Maitha said.

The construction of the project started in July 2006 at a total cost of Dh475 million. It is considered to be an important part of the Shaikh Zayed Road upgrade plan.

It comprises construction of a main bridge consisting of 5 exits to provide access roads to the vital projects and a direct connection between Shaikh Zayed Road, parallel roads and the Emirates Road.
