He has been selected for his outstanding contributions to preserving and protecting the culture and Arab heritage through the activities of the centre. The honour will be bestowed upon him at the 12th round of Al Grain (ancient name of Kuwait) Cultural Festival in December.

Al Majid received yesterday at his office a delegation headed by Talib Al Rufai, Head of the organising committee who came to inform him about the decision of the secretariat.

The JMCCH is considered as a fountainhead of Arab heritage, which provides a vast amount of information about the roots, culture and traditions of the Arab world useful to both the researchers and layman.

The delegation toured all sections of the centre and was briefed about the process of preserving the historical manuscripts and the methods used in restoration and treatment of historical documents and ancient maps. The visitors were impressed with the efforts of the centre and hailed the development of this cultural body which has kept pace with the requirements of the modern age, particularly in terms of the fast access it provides to information and the efficient and easy way that researchers can obtain the documents they need.
