The plant to be set up in Al Bihouth area is expected to process 900,000 tonnes of waste into energy
Lata Nakra, PrincipaI, JSSIS, has been in the field of education for nearly 35 years, in different capacities across primary, middle, secondary and senior secondary schools. She has worked briefly in Mumbai (India) and Dubai for the last 33 years. "I believe in dispersed or distributed leadership. I am not 'the' leader of the school but 'a' leader of leaders. As principal, I mainly obsess myself with creating a very positive culture where every child and every adult feels valued and respected, and a nurturing and engaging learning environment is designed to prepare students to be global citizens," she notes in an interview with Khaleej Times.
Nakra stresses that at JSSIS, parents and teachers are partners in a child's education. There is a clear, shared focus - targets are set for students in collaboration with parents. "The school sets high standards and has very high expectations from students, encouraging and motivating them to maximise their potential. JSSIS encourages students to work hard and at the same time cultivate a habit of creative thinking and desire to excel at every level with confidence, creativity and character, which enables students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners."Current student strength: 2,200+
