Jobs offered to special needs people

DUBAI — One of the sponsors of the Second Hope wedding has offered to provide 10 jobs to people with special needs. This was announced yesterday by the organising committee of the event.

The Second Hope wedding will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre on May 28. Sixty-odd couples with special needs are expected to tie the knot at the event, which is being organised by Asala and Dubai Club for Special Sports and supported by several private companies in the emirate.

Mohamed Al Fahim, executive chairman of Al Fahim Group-Paris Gallery, one of the sponsors, said as part of its patriotic obligations, the group will provide 10 administrative jobs to special needs people during the first phase of the project.

The Damas group, Mahanadi Jewellery and Tameer, besides providing financial support to the event, have promised to facilitate social rehabilitation of people with special needs.

Yousuf Al Hosani, member of the organising committee, said the wedding event aims at providing social and psychological support to people with special needs

He praised President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Rulers of all the emirates for granting equal rights to all UAE nationals and for giving special attention to people with special needs in order to facilitate their integration into the community.
