According to Lieutenent-Colonel Ahmed bin Darwish, head of the patrolling section of Sharjah Police, said the accident occured at 4pm on Al Wahda road when the lady was trying to cross the road barricade of the new road bridge. “The woman was trying to cross the road barricade and was attempting to move to the Abu Shagara area between Al Wahda new bridge and King Faisal bridge.
“The Arab woman driver did not see the woman crossing the road from an undesignated area,” the official said.
The police and an ambulance rushed to the scene but the Asian woman had died immediately on impact, when the car hit her.
