Jail for Credit Card Theft, Misuse

ABU DHABI — The Supreme Court sentenced a man to a month in jail for stealing and forging a credit card and ordered him to pay back the money.

The Public Prosecution accused the man of using a credit card that did not belong to him. It requested the Sharjah Court of First Instance to penalise him as per articles 2/222 and 405 of the Penal Code.

The Sharjah Court of First Instance had found him guilty and sentenced him to three months in jail, and made it mandatory for him to return the amounts used. The accused challenged the verdict and the Court of Appeal in Sharjah reduced the jail term to one month in jail. The Supreme Court upheld the verdic.
