Islamic art experts to attend symposium

DUBAI — Seven of the world’s most eminent Islamic art experts are due in the UAE capital later this month as Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), Abu Dhabi’s leading cultural and tourism asset developer, hosts a major symposium dedicated to ‘The Arts Of Islam.’

Up to 700 invited guests are expected to attend the one-day symposium, to be held at the Emirates Palace Auditorium on January 23, and which will celebrate the launch of the Arts of Islam exhibition.

The exhibition will feature a selection of works from the renowned Khalili collection.

EAD to deploy experts at WFES

ABU DHABI — The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) will deploy experts to answer queries and spread awareness about subjects such as green buildings, green fuel, clean development mechanism and climate change at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) to be held here from tomorrow (January 21) to January 23.

During the WFES, EAD will be encouraging investment in clean development mechanism projects, which are voluntary projects that help address climate change through a market-based concept. CDM is one of the mechanisms set by the Kyoto Protocol, which is expected to assist the UAE in contributing to the ultimate objective of the agreement.

Moosa Enterprises key sponsor of DSF

DUBAI — Abdullah Ahmed Al Moosa Enterprises has announced its third consecutive participation in Dubai Shopping Festival as a key sponsor. The event is set to commence on January 24 and will go on for 32 days.
