Interior ministry's IT dept to launch new services for public

ABU DHABI — Brigadier Matar Salem bin Museiad Al Neiady, Director of the Department of Information Technology, affiliated to the Ministry of Interior, told Khaleej Times that the department would soon launch new technological services in the emirate to facilitate and smoothen transactions by the public.

He said that the services would cover all transactions related to residency and naturalisation, civil defence, traffic and the police.

"The Ministry of Interior formed a panel to develop the police services in line with the directions of Lieutenant-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, regarding the setting up of a committee to enhance the services in different departments in the emirate of Abu Dhabi," he added.

Brig. Al Neiady presided over a meeting of Police Services Development Panel held in the Ministry of Interior yesterday. The meeting approved the unification of all police services in the ministries and all the government departments in Abu Dhabi.

The panel will present a report to Major-General Saif Al Shafar, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on the enhancement of electronic services.

Brig. Al Neiady also announced that a new project linking electronically the Ministry of Interior with other ministries and Abu Dhabi government departments would be launched soon.
