Inspections on eateries intensified

The Ajman Municipality is continuing its inspection campaign targeting food markets, food outlets, manufacturers, restaurant, cafeterias and cafes in order to prevent price hiking and ensure healthy and safe food for the residents of the emirate during the holy month of Ramadan.

Yahya Al Reyaysa, Director-General at the municipality, said the inspection starts from morning until the time of Sahoor (pre-dawn meal during Ramadan) to ensure the food is healthy.

The inspectors also warned many of the food outlets from hiking the prices during Ramadan and Eid and to abide by the prices determined by the Ministry of Economy (MoE). He said the municipality now is preparing the city for Eid by decorating all roundabouts, streets, bridges, commercial centres, government building and all parts of the city with colorful lights.

The civic authority has started cleaning the streets and all parts of the city and is also working on preparing the parks for the visitors during Eid by adding rides and all kinds of fun equipment.

The health department also set up the abattoir for animal slaughtering services during the Eid days. The municipality, in coordination with institutions and cooperative society, organised free iftar projects for the labourers and needy.
