Infectious disease congress next month

DUBAI -The Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services (Dohms) will host the 15th International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI) and the 2nd Annual International Infectious Disease Congress next month.

The congresses will be held on February 3-5 at the Dubai World Exhibition and Convention Centre, in conjunction with the Harvard University.

Dr Kamal Al Faour, Specialist of Gynecology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), and representative of the International Union of Sexual Transmitted Infections, West Asia said the conference would see participation of atleast 400 physicians, technicians, and nurses from all over the globe. It will discuss the world latest developments in diagnosing and curing the sexually contracted diseases.

Dr Al Faour said the congress would feature 50 papers covering issues related to sexually contracted diseases. Noted physicians and specialists from various universities all over the world such as USA, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, and India will take part in the conference.

The congress, he said, will also discuss a number of issues on the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and its treatment. Meanwhile, the 2nd Annual International Infectious Disease Conference will discuss tropical diseases, resisting the influence of antibiotics, lung related diseases, Anthrax, small pox, food poisoning and paediatric tuberculosis.
