George was working for Lahej and Sultan Contracting Company that carries out maintenance services in Dubai Media City and Knowledge Village.

Sources in Dubai Police said the seriously injured victim died on the way to hospital. His body has been kept at Rashid Hospital morgue and investigations are in progress.

A statement from Tecom Investments that manages DKV clarified that all safety measures were in place at the scene of the incident.

Shinoy, who was wearing a helmet, fell from a height of 12 metres, the statement said, adding that he did not suffer any external injuries.

Sujith Kumar, Deputy Manager of Lahej and Sultan Contracting Co. said the company will repatriate Shinoy's body to India.

"We are working on the insurance claim as well and have informed the victim's family," he said.

Shinoy's roommate Deepak Varghese said he was to get married in December in India.

Shinoy hailed from Kerala and had been working in Dubai for the past two years.
