Brigadier Saeed Al Matroushi, Head of the investigation and accident section of Ajman Traffic and License Department, told Khaleej Times that the deceased identified as Mohammed A. did not maintain a safe distance between his car and the vehicle in front while driving. The car driver died on the spot after the iron bars loaded in the truck fell on him separating his head from the torso. Brig Al Matroushi said that police, ambulance and traffic police moved to the scene immediately and shifted the body of the car driver to the morgue.

The driver of the truck escaped unhurt but was shifted to the hospital for a medical check-up and released, he added.

Al Matroushi said that investigation is under progress to determine the exact causes that had led to the accident.

“Negligent driving leads to fatal accidents. Motorists behind wheels should follow traffic rules to protect themselves and others,” Brig Al Matroushi said.
