Shah noted that the Indian community has been once again treated unfairly following the recall of the Indian Airlines manager for the UAE, Aloke Singh, to India, without having first announced his successor to take over the airline’s UAE operations.

Aloke Singh has successfully completed his three-year tenure in the UAE and has been transferred to take charge of the airlines operations in Chennai, India.

But absence of a replacement prior to his departure, Shah expressed will briefly destabilise the smooth operation of the airline in the UAE and the goodwill created in the increasingly competitive airline industry in the country.

“Indian Airlines, during the past 13 years of its operation in the UAE, has made its presence felt in the country because of its strong team of professionals headed by officials like Aloke Singh. But, he now leaves the UAE for India after having toiled to generate good service, relationship and goodwill among the large Indian community in the country,” Shah pointed out at a farewell lunch hosted by him for the outgoing IC UAE Manager and his wife.

Addressing the guests comprising prominent members of the Indian community as well as the Indian Consul-General, Yash Sinha, Shah urged the Indian government to have special considerations for the Gulf Indians. He also urged the Indian community to extend its support and cooperation to both national carriers - Indian Airlines and Air India.

Thanking the community for all the support, Aloke Singh expressed hope to continue his relationship with the Gulf Indians from Chennai, an important sector for Gulf NRIs.

He noted that Indian Airlines has established itself in the Gulf market surpassing its revenue for the last fiscal year. “The current fiscal year closed with a revenue of Dh440 million and in the next year we hope to cross half a billion dirhams, ” disclosed Singh, hoping, the airline continues to grow in the region.
