A 36-year-old Indian worker was rescued by a team of Ajman Civil Defence after he fell in the shaft of a building in new industrial area of Ajman. The injured man was rushed to Khalifa Hospital by National Ambulance.
Brig Mohammed Ali Al Jumaira, director of fire stations of Ajman Civil Defence, said that they received a call on Friday morning and the rescue team along with the ambulance immediately reached the site where they found the man on the floor of the shaft lying unconscious, "as he had sustained serious injuries".
The team managed to pull the worker up and rescued him in a short time, while rushing him to the hospital in ambulance. The site has been handed over by the police for investigation.

Brig Jumaira said that the shaft was not secured and it threatened the life of people, especially the children.
"We instructed the management of the building to solve the issue and fix the problem as soon as possible," he added.
