The Akhbar Al Sa’a (News of the Hour) bulletin, has affirmed that the UAE’s initiatives to the service of humanity does not stop, and this is in line with the humanitarian approach led by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, referring to the most recent UAE Suqia (charity water) Initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide clean drinking water to five million people worldwide, which will be implemented with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
Under the title: “UAE’s Leading Initiatives in the Service of Humanity” the bulletin said the announcement of the Suqia Initiative came a shortly after the humanitarian gesture of Shaikh Khalifa to release 969 prisoners serving terms in various prison.
The bulletin, issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, added that the launching of the Suqia Initiative also coincides with the UAE polio vaccination campaign which targets more than 3.6 million children, in implementation of the directives of Shaikh Khalifa and as part of the initiative of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.
