A statement issued by the ministry explained that after September 2 (when the amnesty period ends), the illegals would not be allowed to adjust their status by transferring of the sponsorship or renewing their labour cards and visas.

The minister’s decision gives the amnesty seekers two more months to enable them to complete the procedures to get their outpasses, book their air-tickets, and leave the country.

The statement stressed that the amnesty seekers, after September 2, cannot regularise their status.
