The announcement followed a meeting between Qassim Sultan, Director-General, DM, and Piero Corsini, General Manager, IBM for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Austria and Switzerland.
Praising the existing co-operation between the municipality and IBM, Sultan said the civic body is looking forward to benefiting from the latest advanced technologies introduced by IBM in various fields. On his part, the IBM official pointed out that Dubai is setting an example for governments in the region by using the most advanced technologies for serving the public.
The IBM delegation also included Takreem El Tohamy, General Manager, Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan, and Sreeram Visvanathan, Industry Leader, Public Sector.
Also present during the meeting were Hussein Nasser Lootah, Assistant Director General of Dubai Municipality for Planning and Building Affairs who also heads the eGovernment Committee, Abdul Hakim Malik, Director of Information Technology Department and Ahmed Hashem Bahrouzyan, Head of eGovernment Services Section.
