He urged the Rulers to appoint women members in the FNC if the women candidates failed to win in their emirates. He said women in the UAE have a right to occupy seats in the FNC.

Shaikh Humaid, accompanied by Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, and Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department of Municipality and Planning, toured the polling centre in the emirate and urged the candidates to contribute to the emirate’s development.

Shaikh Humaid said the democratic process was not entirely new in the emirate. “The Rulers’ Majlis is always open to citizens. They can come and discuss their issues and problems directly. There is no difficulty hindering citizens from discussing their problems with the Ruler.”

He hoped that the FNC would be a great example of democracy in the region.
