Humaid honours varsity professors, students

AJMAN- His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, paid rich tributes yesterday to the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for his support to education and academics in the UAE.

Shaikh Humaid praised the contributions of Shaikh Zayed in developing the educational process and shaping the future of the nation.

He was speaking at the 5th Gulf Student Conference, held under the theme 'Secondary Schools... National Strategy and Future Vision' at Umm-ul-Moumineen Women's Association in Ajman. Addressing the gathering, Shaikh Humaid said: "The active participation by the UAE students in developing the learning-teaching process is highly appreciated, and it would not have been possible without the efforts exerted by the UAE leaders."

Also present at the conference was Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Member of Board of Trustees of Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Foundation for Human Resources and Development and Chairman of Ajman Students Council; Shaikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister for Supreme Council Affairs and President of Ajman Ruler's Court; Dr Ali Abdul Aziz Al Sharhan, UAE Ministry of Education and Youth; Dr Ahmed Saad Al Sharif, Assistant Under-Secretary for Students Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Youth; and Mohammed Saeed Al Melais, Director of Arab Education Bureau of AGCC; in addition to a large number of dignitaries from the UAE and AGCC countries.

Shaikh Rashid, who also addressed the gathering, said: "This conference symbolises Ajman Educational Zone's concept of tackling educational issues in a scientific manner and identifying future challenges."

He said the theme of the conference reflects its direct relevance to students' affairs and it concurs with the MoEY's strategies and projects aimed at the development of the educational process.
