Housewife wins Dh500,000

DUBAI — The coupon No. 1844397 proved to be extremely lucky for the Indian housewife, Sashil Bhani, on Thursday evening when her ticket netted Dh500,000 at the weekly Dubai Summer Surprises Raffle.

On winning the raffle, Bhani said, “I have never expected to be one of the fortunate winners that I keep reading about. I feel truly blessed.” She filled in the coupon during her recent visit to Bur-Juman Centre.

Eisa Adam Ebrahim, President of DSMG, who drew the winning coupon at Times Square Centre was pleased with the increase in raffle coupon sales this year, commenting, “The sales on coupons generated Dh78,600,000, increasing 175 per cent compared to the fourth week of last year’s DSS. This draw is the fifth for this season, so we are half way through DSS with only five more draws, Dh2.5 million to win, and five more lucky winners.”

Abdulla Amiri, Senior Services and operations Coordinator, DSS Office, described the tremendous response from shoppers and visitors as proof of the success of the ‘Shop and Win Millions’ Campaign, the biggest such promotion since the inception of DSS.

Shoppers will receive one raffle coupon for every Dh200 spent at any of the 21 participating malls and outlets, with purchases using MasterCard credit cards receiving an additional two coupons for every Dh200. The next draw will be held at Festival City on August 2, with live TV coverage by Sama Dubai.
