Be careful not to get too far ahead of yourself this week or you’ll find yourself backed into a corner with no means of escape. Careful steering is needed to operate intimate personal relationships. You’ve said something in the heat of the moment and are about to be overwhelmed by a passionate display of feeling. To remain in control though, ask yourself whether you really want to get involved. The next morning when the blood is cool and the head’s in charge, you’ll only feel total embarrassment.

Taurus (Apr 20 - May 20)

The Moon in Taurus is generally a good sign representing an opportunity to embark on new adventures. Not this time! The awakening Moon forms a square with deceptive Neptune and warns of bribery and financial scandal. Make sure anything you’re involved in is kosher and above board. Don’t start anything until you’ve checked the credentials of everybody involved. You need to be very wary about unsolicited offers and strange Greeks bearing gifts. You have no need for a Trojan Horse!

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

The transit of pleasure-loving Venus into frivolous Gemini may tempt you to lighten up a bit, down tools and come out to play. It’s true you’ve been working hard and ought to be able to spend time and money as you like. But make moderation your watchword. There’s a price to pay for neglecting your duties. It’s called debt! However, it shouldn’t be hard to get someone to cover your absence. Just make sure they’re reliable and you’re not gone for long. Mice get up to mischief when the cat’s out of reach.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22

With the Moon squared by shady Neptune, the cosmic picture is dotted with potential black spots for the Crab this week. The going won’t be smooth and you’ll have to do some smooth talking to keep yourself in peoples’ good books. When you hear a cry for help, don’t play the hermit crab or solitary recluse. When not on the defensive, you wave your huge pincers menacingly. You’re only a fully plated knight with a soft underbelly and no underwear. Pretending to be a fearsome gladiator fools no one.

Leo (July 23 - Aug 22)

It’s the start of the hunting season, but with your ruler the Sun misaligned with deceitful Neptune, the trail is not going to be easy to follow. Although you’ve got the scent and your blood is up, don’t rush into any new projects or relationships without a proper reconnaissance. Setting an ambush near the nearest watering hole and lying in wait could be the best way to catch your elusive quarry. It’s worth going hungry for a little longer if your dinner can be a free home delivery.

Virgo (Aug 23 - Sept 22)

While others seem determined to call all the shots, you may find it hard to hide your resentment. Resist the temptation to tell people they’re out of order. Even if it makes you feel better, do check your facts before you go shooting your mouth off. Mercury’s alignment with paranoid Pluto is exaggerating your sense of righteous indignation, but you may be barking up the wrong tree. Remember how much you dislike your motives being questioned when you think you’re doing the right thing!

Libra (Sept 23 - Oct 22)

Your ruler Venus moves into unstable Gemini this week to upset your balance. You don’t have to simply bear it while others try to tip the scales against you. You can avoid providing too much information to those who don’t need it this week. The more you do, the more ammunition you provide for people bent on seeing you lose your grip. Hanging on may be a hard job, but don’t bow to any pressure to do more than you already are. Realise that envy is driving this vendetta and such pettiness is best ignored.

Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21)

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, planet of hidden hopes and fears. You don’t find it easy to open up and reveal what you’re feeling, but an alignment between Mercury and Pluto this week could provide the opportunity to confide in someone. Don’t shrug it off. Not only will you feel better, you’ll receive sensible advice from your confidante as to your next move. You risk a nuclear-sized explosion if you keep quiet and many could be exposed to the radiation caused by the fall-out.

Sagittarius (Nov 22 - Dec 21)

A wildly independent streak is your worst failing. You hate being told that you can’t manage on your own. Yet why be too proud to admit that you could do with help sometimes? Although your success rate in pulling off eleventh hour coups single-handedly is miraculous, you can’t always expect to wing it. There’ll be a time when you’ll come seriously unstuck. While you may not need assistance right now, you choose a lonely path if you refuse to take others on board. Don’t ignore that those around you want to be involved and valued. A challenge is about to arise that will require teamwork and joint effort. There’s no such thing as a one-horse race and you can’t hope to succeed without a crew.

Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 19)

Mercury’s misalignment with your ruler Saturn this week suggests a need for ‘calculated’ thinking. In order to succeed with a current enterprise or with a tricky relationship issue, you need to plan ahead. You can’t be sure that if you leave things alone that ‘all will come right in the wash’. Unforeseen circumstances and minor mishaps cannot be ruled out. You must make sure that you’ve both time and the means to deal with them should they arise. When one wants to catch the last post, it’s sensible to have the communication written, sealed, stamped and ready in the out-basket. Similarly, if you want to keep an important date or appointment, book the transport, taxi or the train ticket in good time.

Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18)

As Venus moves into fickle flirty Gemini, the temptation to be mysterious and keep a certain person guessing will be hard to resist. However, playing hard to get can backfire big time. The person whose attention you hope to hold may simply lose interest and walk away. Besides it’s out of character for the Water Carrier to lure the thirsty and then withhold refreshment and you can’t expect them to tarry too long waiting for a drink. If you miss an appointment or arrive too late, expectancy will turn to frustration and they’ll move on to another more hospitable well. It’s a mistake to play games and toy with another’s affections by blowing hot and cold for amusement.

Pisces (Feb 19- Mar 20)

Get a grip, Pisces, and try to see that you must examine a certain relationship in an objective way and not go into vigorous self-denial. Some may think you have been coming on too strongly and you must admit that your approach has been a bit pushy and inept. Yet the adoption of more subtle tactics and a little delicacy and finesse are all that it takes to put things right. You might need advice, help and co-operation in this regard and should seek counsel from some older, wiser head. Skill and fine-tuning are involved in keeping things in good running order. First, to get things on to a more intimate basis, you need to turn on the ignition. If the engine fails to get going, a jump-start or a push can help.
