Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Your energy is infused with passion and impulse as a result and if there’s anything you desperately want — this is the time to go for it. You will want to aim high, but you have to beware of trying to act alone. You may be so absorbed in showing off your talents that your display borders on the outrageous and creates the wrong impression. Rather than dazzle and win applause you’ll be dismissed as a mere show-off if you insist on hogging centre-stage.

Taurus (Apr 20- May 20)

Venusian influences this week may prove a bit unsettling. The planet weaves a deceptive web and provides the impulse to be demonstrative. However, try not to betray your feelings before you’ve been given the glad eye. Your undoing could be that you’ll assume too much and misread the signal for full steam ahead. Over-estimation on your part could lead you to miss your step and make falling more certain. Before you proceed, check the connections and make sure you’re fully earthed. Imagine the embarrassment if just as you think you’ve got the fairy lights flashing, the system overloads and blows the circuit.

Gemini (May 21 - Jun 20)

Despite your confident professional pose, deep down you know you could be doing better. Mercury’s conjunction with Pluto this week should help you to dig deep and discover latent inner resources to enliven your performance and recover your starry image. However, you must be totally honest with yourself, for there’s no point in pretending everything’s perfect. Admit there are flaws and do something about them — before your mask slips and they are exposed for everyone to see. On present form, you’re going to run out of costumes and your show will be revealed as just another pedestrian act.

Cancer (Jun 21 - Jul 22)

Ordinarily a shy retiring creature, the Crab could be eager to make a splash and hit the headlines this week. This is due to the Moon’s liaisons with eccentric Uranus, expansive Jupiter and impulsive Mars. Not only is your mind filled with the wildest ideas, but the stage is all set for the launch of something that little bit out of the ordinary. You won’t suffer any loss of face by having a shot at something normally out of your league. Discussion alone could lead to finding ways to refine a far-fetched concept and make it work and you’ll soon be told if your plans are really off-the-wall.

Leo (Jul 23 - Aug 22)

The mighty Sun’s alignment with powerful Jupiter should serve to toughen you up and let everyone know that you won’t be a scapegoat. If people come looking to you for support, be prepared to give them only basic advice and your blessing. Anything more is unlikely to be appreciated in the long run. There are times when cubs need to leave the den and fend for themselves. A few bruises are a small price to pay for an education in the school of experience. Everyone needs to learn life’s lessons the hard way. You’ll receive no thanks or gratitude if you remove obstacles and smooth their pathway to full independence.

Virgo (Aug 23 - Sept 22)

With your ruler, Mercury riding high in the heavens this week, you’ll feel obliged to assert yourself and defend your corner. You shouldn’t have to endure a situation where people are allowed to ride roughshod over and rubbish your schemes. Those who are important to you will soon realise that your idea holds far more water than the rest. Don’t be tempted either to throw it all down the drain before another inspection or to lean towards unorthodox, even bizarre methods to get noticed. There’s some merit in dressing up and disguising your plans, but don’t overdo it.

Libra (Sept 23 - Oct 22)

A Venus-Mars conjunction marks a good time to be open and discuss your misgivings about your current performance. You might feel it lacks spark and credibility. In talking it over, you might just discover that your low self-esteem is completely unjustified. Just ask anyone and you’ll be given the encouraging reassurance that you are indeed striking the right notes. Lost in despair, you may not have noticed that you’ve been creating immense interest in all the right places. You’re in for a lot more praise than has been coming your way up till now.

Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21)

The conjunctions that your ruler, Mars, makes with Venus and the Moon this week is a positive sign for the Scorpion. While few people normally see eye-to-eye with you on such controversial issues, you’ll eventually be able to persuade them to change their views. Initially, however, some of them might be unsettled by your unusual and unorthodox approach to improve relations in a particular situation. So if you’re hoping for whole-hearted support right away, don’t hold your breath. Once you actually start building for real, it will be a different story and everyone will want to help mix the concrete.

Sagittarius (Nov 22 - Dec 21)

Your insistence on keeping going when the chips are down is admirable, as is your firm faith in the worth of a particular project. However, you can’t expect everyone to share your optimism when they don’t know the background as well as you do. Eventually you’ll persuade the more cautious around to share your point of view. By carefully working through the details of each stage, you’ll gain increasing support. There’s no point getting involved in heated arguments. Let the results speak for themselves.
