The Ruler presented degrees to 77 MBBS and 17 Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) students at the convocation which was packed with students and parents and attended by several local dignitaries including Shaikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman Ruler's Court Ajman and B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen, Chairman of B.A. Group India.

Some students were also presented with special appreciation certificates for their outstanding academic performance during their study at the GMCA. Addressing the graduates, Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of GMCA, expressed the hope that the university will be a benchmark in the field of medical education in the region.

GMCA will prove to be a trendsetter in providing quality education, he said, congratulating the fresh graduates. Moideen noted that the GMCA degrees are now recognised by the Ministry of Education and will be accepted throughout the world.

"The first graduates of GMCA, after successful completion of their internship programme at Al Mafraq Hospital, Al Jaziera Hospital and other leading hospitals in the UAE and overseas have shown their mettle in the recently competitive examinations conducted by the Ministry of Health in the UAE and Bahrain. With this achievement, GMCA graduates can practise anywhere in the UAE — both in hospitals as well as clinics," Moideen said, adding, they can also pursue their postgraduation studies/specialisation anywhere in the world.

Several graduates have passed their Medical Council of India (MCI) examination held in India recently, he disclosed, assuring graduates and their parents of the recognition granted by the medical fraternity to the UAE institution. Professor S. Rangaswami, Dean of the College, highlighted the salient features of UAE's first private medical college which caters to both boys and girls of all nationalities.
