According to the officials of the Ministry of Health, the proposed budget is a little higher than that of the previous year.

The higher amount in the draft budget relates to the increase in salaries of national and expatriate employees at the ministry, the official said. He added that the budget dossier of some Dh1.5 billion was earlier submitted to the Ministry of Finance and Industry, but the latter sent it back to the Ministry of Health for a review.

Ministry of Health had already slashed the amount to Dh1.205 billion after making necessary reductions.

However, new employment opportunities, totalling 115, jobs, including jobs for newly-graduated nursing staff, have been created for the next year, the sources said.
