The first day was dedicated to the girls and the second day to the boys. The open days commenced with a speech by AUD President Dr Lance De Masi, outlining the elements that shape the university's character: the American educational experience, an emphasis on teaching, a learning approach that is a mixture of theory and practice, and finally a focus on personal growth and individual attention.

Dr De Masi stressed the fact that AUD's history was based on quality and effectiveness.

"As far as effectiveness is concerned, just consider the many AUD graduates who occupy outstanding positions in both the private and public sectors, and you'll understand why we look upon their success as our success," he said.

A presentation was then launched that mainly focused on AUD's accreditation and the undergraduate programs offered at the university that include Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Interior Design, and Visual Communication.

This was followed by an admissions presentation that elaborated on the admission process and procedures, and the different scholarship opportunities. After the admission presentation, a Q&A session was offered to give the students a chance to put queries to the staff relating to applications for admission to the university.

The students were briefed on the Department of Student Services, its mission and activities, and how this department supports the students and their activities such as the Desert Safari trip scheduled for the February 23.

The presentation finally highlighted the AUD students' achievements, growth in enrolment, tuition fees, facilities and the graduation ceremonies that take place on the university's campus.

Many schools participated in the event including Al Ahliya School, Al Ain English Speaking School, Al Ittihad Private School, Al Nahda National School, Al Rawafed Private School, Al Worood School, Alandalus School, American International School in Abu Dhabi, Dubai International School, Dubai National School (Barsha), Sharjah American International School, Sharjah Public School, Latifa School for Girls, Dubai American Scientific School and Dubai Modern Education School.
