The destination to be, Jumeirah has long been celebrated as an upscale boulevard in Dubai by residents as well as tourists. What was once a simple street transformed over the years to accommodate some of the most exciting leisure and luxury platforms Dubai has to offer.

The district boasts a wide variety of delicacies and shopping experiences.
With the set-up of establishments such as La Mer, for instance, visitors can now enjoy a wholesome day out. Jumeirah is an ideal family-friendly destination that offers a delectable range of cuisines for different tastebuds as well as activities that promise a perfect social gathering for the young and young at heart.

Here's a list of places to check out:

Madfoon Al Sadda: Juicy and tender off-the-bone meat, Madfoon Al Sadda is a go-to place if you're craving a hearty meal amid a private Bedouin-inspired ambience. We'd highly recommend trying out the lamb madfoon - a delicious blend of aromatic rice and seasoned meat, that is slow-cooked to perfection. The meals are often complemented by crispy fried onions, light salsa, and refreshing soup. End the evening with some fragrant Arabic tea.

Maria Bonita: The spirit of Latin America is strong that ranks it one of the best places for Mexican food. Complemented by a vibrant ambience, live music, and of course, lip-smacking courses, Maria Bonita brings traditional Mexican fare to Dubai. It's bound to having you lusting after plump burritos, crunchy tacos and refreshing fizzes. As an appetiser (or even main course! Who are we to judge?), we'd recommend ordering the guacamole, which is prepared fresh at the table!

Filli Café: What's better than a breezy stroll down a chilly Jumeirah Beach? Walking with a toasty snack and hot tea on hand! Filli's Café is set in a cosy corner to give visitors a refreshing break. Leave all the stress behind with its selection of savoury treats and heart-warming drinks. Tea and Talk is indeed a fitting tagline for this stall.

Samad Al Iraqi: It's rather impossible to miss the restaurant, thanks to its iconic display of a big fish slow-roasting in a spitfire behind glass doors. Samad Al Iraqi represents the finest of Iraqi cuisine, where its bestsellers include seasoned seafood, meaty kebabs, and a delightful range of seasonal appetisers known as a dolma. Iraqi culture celebrates the spirit of togetherness, so there's plenty of space for large gatherings at the venue.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Bite into juicy chicken wings - boneless or with bone, take your pick - as you watch adrenaline-pumping live action at the sports-themed outlet. The restaurant is a lively place and leaves diners spoilt for choice with its spectrum of mind-boggling saucy flavours. Its menu offers combos and other specialities such as burgers and salads, alongside bottomless soft drinks. Perfect if you're feeling peckish or ready to satiate a big appetite.

Motomachi: Sink your teeth into Japanese delicacies when you step into Motomachi at La Mer. With a fine assortment of aromatic dishes to choose from - be it Gyudon, Ramen, Katsu curry, Tempura or Sashimi, to name a few - the restaurant emphasises on the umami factor to leave diners yearning for more. Top off your meal with renowned desserts such as a towering parfait or an impressively sweet brick toast. Itadakimasu!

HumYum: Deemed a fast food joint with an Emirati twist, Hum Yum has a list of wraps and yummy snacks that is set to cure hunger pangs. It boasts Emirati-style flatbread, Rigag with every concoction imaginable - egg, honey, zaatar, and Nutella - as well as parathas packed with varying flavours such as gooey cheese and chips. Looking for a bestseller? You won't regret picking up a pack of luqaymat, which are fat, juicy dumplings drizzled in a warm light dripping date syrup.
