What a creative way to get drivers to slow down!
This small fishing town of Ísafjörður in Iceland, which is known for having one of the coolest climates in the world, has taken road safety to a whole new level. A new pedestrian crossing, that appears to be 3D, has been painted in a cleverly-detailed optical illusion, a YouTube video shows. The video shows children, pedestrians, and vehicles slowing down while crossing.

Earlier, Delhi in India painted 3D zebra crossings on many busy roads to encourage drivers to slow down and avoid road accidents.

Ísafjörður is a small town where the tourist industry is picking up in recent years. It is a major access point to the nature reserve on the Hornstrandir Peninsula, an uninhabited wilderness area to which ferries run weekly during summers in July.
