Health Leadership Programme Focuses on Quality of Services

ABU DHABI - This year’s Middle East Health Leadership Programme (MEHLP), which aims at providing healthcare policymakers in the Arab region with business and leadership skills, was held in the capital on Wednesday.

The programme focuses on the quality of the services in hospitals and clinics and the efficiency of healthcare programmes.

It is an initiative by Johnson & Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust — Middle East Branch in partnership with the INSEAD (Centre for Executive Education and Research in Abu Dhabi). It was attended by 28 senior healthcare leaders.

Participants were selected from seven countries of the region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon and Iraq.

Dr Ali bin Shakar, Under-secretary of the UAE Ministry of Health, said, “The programme offers the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon several schools of thoughts, and the diversity of the participants in terms of their depth and breadth of experience and background has significantly enriched the sessions.
