Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the HCT, and Samuel Spreng, Chairman of Swiss Securitas Group, formalised the partnership this week with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through the partnership, specialized security technology programmes will be developed and offered at the HCT, enabling UAE national students to become qualified security technology experts.

“The Higher Colleges of Technology have always been at the forefront in developing relationships with the leading-edge institutions like Securitas to ensure that we are able to leverage the best possible information and communications technologies for the benefit of our students and the community,” Shaikh Nahyan said.

There will also be an opportunity for faculty development in the development of the programs and innovative security products and solutions will be available to support the UAE business and academic community.

A Securitas Lab will also be established at one of the HCT’s Campuses to be used for testing and training purposes.

The HCT is the UAE’s largest higher education institution and one of the most progressive and innovative. Its 14 campuses across the nation are commitment to excellence in teaching and learning standards, making the HCT a leader in education and training.

The Swiss Securitas Group offers an effective set of instruments with which to address security and protection needs through constant readiness, state-of-the-art technologies and professional services.
