DUBAI - Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday visited the 4th Family Forum Village in Al Khawaneej.
The event started in December last year is organised by the Princess Haya bint Al Hussein Islamic Cultural Centre of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities. It will conclude on April 4.
Princess Haya was welcomed by Dr Hamad Al Shebani, Director-General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities; Mona Belhasa, Assistant to the Director-General for Institutional Support Affairs and chairperson of the higher organising committee of the event; Eisa Al Maidour of Dubai Municipality and other senior officials.
Princess Haya hailed the Family Forum Village which hosts a wide array of events and entertaining activities such as cultural and awareness programmes, poetry sessions, educational courses, Islamic and public lectures and contests that mainly target children to enhance social and traditional principles and values. She listened to a presentation by Mona on the main activities hosted at the village’s stage as well as on cultural events and lectures.
She also visited the village’s museums, restaurants and traditional food corner, and kiosks and special areas that represent young entrepreneurs and corners for displaying products made by families, perfumes, clothes, accessories and gift shops, among others.
Princess Haya also toured the village’s souq, which houses a number of shops and a corner for products made by families supported by the event’s management.
