DUBAI - Preliminary construction works for rural Hatta hospital have begun. This was announced Engineer Saeed Al Shamsy, Director of Engineering and Maintenance Division in Department of Medical and Health Services, Dubai. Being built at a cost of Dh44 million in addition to medical equipment costing another Dh25 million, the hospital is likely to open by the end of 2006, he said.
"A project consultant has been appointed for design works and technical specifications of the employees' residential complex, which is expected to be completed simultaneously alongwith the completion of the hospital construction works, in order to provide housing for hospital employees," he said. The 60-bed hospital will have outpatient clinics for surgery, emergency, critical cases, ICU, operation rooms and treatment rooms. Specialised clinics for ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology and dentistry will also be provided. A study of the hospital needs for necessary equipment is currently being conducted to provide state-of-the-art medical services.
