Amir Ghanbarinia, managing director of Heritage Carpet, one of top five biggest carpet dealers in the world, told Khaleej Times that he had these Persian carpets made in Tabriz, Iran in mid 2009. “We are unveiling them for the first time here at the Dubai Carpet Oasis. All in all, it took two years to finish them because of the very fine work that required more time to do it. Even in the eyes, silk is woven 1mm below the wool to give a 3D effect.”

Ghanbarinia said that these Persian carpets are the best examples of fine handmade materials.

“I do not put cost to these carpets as they are very unique and precious. But, overall, I believe that Persian carpets will benefit Dubai from the international market as it is the centre of carpet trading and the government has provided facilities needed for trading activities in this region.” lily@khaleejtimes.com
