Shaikh Mayed joined hands with thousands of students as they formed a large human chain in support of the Dubai Cares campaign.

Exhibiting their solidarity with the cause that Dubai Cares represents, 14 students delivered messages in several languages — a gesture that is representative of the diversity of the project and the city itself.

Once on stage, Shaikh Mayed joined hands with the children to be part of the chain and officially launched ‘Hands Together’ — a fund-raising event organised by Al Mawakeb School in aid of the Dubai Cares campaign.

Shaikh Mayed yesterday also received Dh1 million for the Dubai Cares campaign from Rohit Walia, CEO and Managing Director of Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital in Dubai, part of the Swiss-based Bank Sarasin Group.

e-TQM College, the Dubai-based pioneers in e-learning education, hosted a fundraising event on their premises yesterday as part of a shared effort in supporting the Dubai Cares campaign. e-TQM College wanted to contribute through hosting this event with donations raised by faculty, staff and students. Moreover, the event witnessed the official launch of the college’s online donation portal, another initiative undertaken by the college to facilitate the online payment of donations through Dubai eGovernment’s ePay gateway.

Individuals and corporations who wish to contribute to ‘Dubai Cares’ through a secure and reliable online payment system can now do so by logging on to www.etqm.ae/etqmcollegecares.

The Department of Economic Development (DED) also organised a donation campaign to support the Dubai Cares initiative.

The campaign, led by Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General for Executive Affairs, received overwhelming response from all employees.
