According to a Press release, the representative bodies of the committee, headed by the CEO of Dubai Statistics Centre, were selected based on statistical size and load each represented in the emirate.

The committee would guide the statistical work in the emirate in order to support all areas and sectors of the Dubai Strategic Plan as well as achieve integration of statistical work through coordination between the major organisations that issue statistical data.

It would also unify the emirate-level statistical criteria with the approved national-level criteria. The committee would also facilitate the statistical data flow to the Dubai Statistics Centre from its sources by enhancing the level of cooperation and coordination between the centre and the data sources.

Apart from the Dubai Statistics Centre, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Health Authority, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Port, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Department of Economic Development, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Department of Naturalisation and Residency and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry are also members of the committee.

The order also authorised the chairman of the governing body of the centre to add two more representatives from relevant federal or local government organisations.
