Shaikh Hamdan made these remarks while inaugurating the Ras Ghamis-Gaga Island bridge in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.
The project is one of the major projects the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (DoT) is carrying out to upgrade its road and transport infrastructure under Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, which recognises the importance of transport in shaping the future of the metropolitan area.
“The opening of the bridge keeps pace of progress Abu Dhabi is experiencing in the social, economic and cultural life and is maintaining aesthetic, environmental and sustainability values in the emirate in line with Plan 2030 which seeks to position Abu Dhabi one of the world’s best metropolitans,” Shaikh Hamdan added. The 2.6km-long waterway has a water bridge stretching 520 metres and a dual road of two lanes of 3 metres wide. — Wam
