In the international category there are three awards, The Grand Hamdan International Award and the subject selected is ‘Molecular and Cellular Pathology of Neurological Disorders,’ Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence and the topics are ‘Biology of Aging’, ‘Cytokines in Pathogenesis and Therapy of Diseases’ and ‘Pathogenesis of Hypertension’. It also has Hamdan Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services.
In the Arab World category there is Hamdan Award for the Best Medical College/Institute or Centre in the Arab World while in the UAE category, there are Hamdan Award for an Outstanding Clinical Department in the Public Sector in the UAE, Hamdan Award for Original Research Paper Published in Emirates Medical Journal and Hamdan Award to Support Medical Research in UAE.
It also lists the detailed information about the nominations, procedures and the last date for receiving the completed nomination, which is November 10, 2005.
This foundation presents the awards once in every two years and also organises the Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences where winners and pioneers from the selected categories present their state-of-the-art lectures.
