A thunderstorm on Monday hit the Saudi city of Mina, where thousands of Haj pilgrims are housed in tents.
Garbage and rubbish flowed along with the water to the valley below.
Pilgrims were seen scampering for cover as the heavens opened up without warning after 3.30pm. Water seeped into the tents even as its occupants tried to stop it.

The rains came a day after a thunderstorm hit Arafat.
Pilgrims are in Mina for the 'stoning of the devil' ritual. They will be in the city till Wednesday, but some will leave on Tuesday itself.
