Official sources at Emirates Airlines confirmed that the first flight carried 160 passengers.
The pilgrims were greeted with local sweets, dates, and bakhoor (Oud)and several other delicacies.
Officials from Dubai Police, Dubai Customs, Immigration Department,and the airport authority greeted the returning pilgrims.
The official stated that approximately four to five flights carrying pilgrims were expected from Saudi Arabia.
A pilgrim and Dubai resident Ahmed said: “I hope I will be able to perform Haj again in the future. It was a fantastic experience. I have not experienced anything better”
Based on official figures, about three million registered pilgrims took part in this year’s Haj.
